Founder of The Resilient Training Collective

Brenda Adams

I have been a fitness professional for over 29 years. In that time I’ve had the opportunity to work for provincial fitness organizations, to chair the National Fitness Leadership Alliance and to run one of the largest fitness centres in Canada. One of my greatest passions is teaching, whether it be in a community setting or as a sessional instructor at Vancouver Island University. I thrive on taking knowledge and making it easy for people to learn and understand. I developed with Resilient Trainer Collective as a way to bring together all the supports that I knew Personal Trainers would need to have a thriving career. It has been a labour of love and something I am incredibly proud of. While I may have been the catalyst behind it, I have a team of amazing people who bring it to life every day. My latest endeavour is working on my Ph.D. under the supervision of Dr. Lara Lauzon and Dr. John Meldrum at the University of Victoria. The focus of my research is to better understand the factors that make it difficult for many Personal Trainers to take care of their own health and wellness. It’s time to take care of Personal Trainers.
